How to avoid duplicate accounts when updating a learner email address

When you update a learner's email address, it's important to update it in all the required places to avoid duplicate accounts. Here are the FOUR places the email address must be updated:

  • ADM/APT user email
  • ADM/APT user external ID
  • FI Learn user name
  • FI Learn email

If one or more of these fields are missed, a duplicate account will be created in FI Learn the time a learner books a course and it goes through the API.

Remember: if the learner exists in 2+ TMS systems, the user email and user external ID must be updated in all systems.
